About Me

Grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Married at 17 years old. Packed all my belongings in my Datsun 210 and drove over 2000 miles to be with my husband, a brand new Marine, who was in California. We were two stupid kids jumping off that cliff of life, having no clue what was below us...but I would not change one single mistake or bad decision we made. Not one. They have made me into who I am today. Three babies came along right when they were planned for and wanted most. I started writing poetry when I started writing and my Mama loved it all. Makes sense that my first book would be about her. She started it all. Writing has always been there for me during the most difficult times in my life. Had it not been for words, I'm convinced I wouldn't be here. Words saved me when I needed them most. They are absolutely everything to me.
